Volkswagen ID. POLO May Not Be Suitable!

Ana sayfa / News

Volkswagen is preparing to make its mark on 2026 with the ID. Polo, the fully electric successor to its legendary compact car, the Polo. Initially promising “electric mobility for all” with a price tag of around €25,000 ($30,000), the German giant has released a surprising update to its launch strategy.

Volkswagen may not be able to offer the base model at the initially promised €25,000 price point at launch. According to the German economic newspaper Handelsblatt, this is due to disruptions in the supply of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries.

Despite its compact dimensions, the ID. Polo offers surprisingly spacious interiors thanks to Volkswagen’s new MEB+ platform.

Dimensions: At 4.05 meters long, the vehicle has similar exterior dimensions to the current Polo. However, thanks to the compact design of the electric motor, it offers an additional 19 mm of legroom and a massive 435-liter boot capacity.

Charging Performance: In the top versions, it can reach 80% charge from 10% in just 23 minutes.

The most exciting news for Volkswagen enthusiasts is the ID. Polo GTI version. Joining the family towards the end of 2026, this model, with its 166 kW (223 hp) engine, will complete the 0-100 km/h acceleration in under 7 seconds.

When Will It Arrive?
Pre-Orders: Planned to start in Europe at the end of April 2026.
